PUIC Participates within the International Monitoring Team for the Indonesian Parliament Elections

In response to a kind invitation extended by His Excellency Mr. Bambang Soesatyo Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, a PUIC delegation, headed by H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi NIASS, PUIC Secretary General, and the membership of the PUIC Deputy Secretary General H.E. Mr. Aliasghar Mohammadi Sijani, went to Jakarta capital of Indonesia, to participate, as part of an international monitoring team, in observing the simultaneous direct elections for the president and members of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) due to be held in Indonesia on 17th April, 2019.

Indonesian Voters this year will vote for electing the President and Vice President, 575 members of Parliament (the House of Representatives), 136 DPD (regional Representative Council) members, 2207 city council members and 17610 district council members.

There are 190 million ballots provided to the general voters who would vote at 805075 polling stations. In addition, millions of ballots were distributed in various parts of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua, by using ships and airplanes.

The competition will be among candidates of 16 parties, as well as four regional parties specifically contend in Aceh.
