PUIC General Secretariat Participated In: APU Conference in Ouagadougou- Burkina Faso

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General delegated His Excellency Ambassador Siddig Abu Agla, Director of the Cabinet, to attend as an Observer the 40th Session of the Conference of the African Parliaments Union (APU), which was held in Ouagadougou- Burkina Faso – on 6-10 November, 2017.
H.E. the Ambassador delivered the Speech of H.E. the PUIC Secretary General, and conveyed the wishes of the Secretary General for the success of the Conference. The Speech addressed two subjects offered for debate by the Conference: Firstly: Contribution of African Parliaments to safeguarding national sovereignty and enhance peace and security in Africa. Secondly: Challenges of drought and famine in the framework of developing agriculture and agro-industry in Africa for sustainable economic development.
His Excellency also wished that parliamentary and governmental efforts and coordination with international efforts as well as arrangements made by UN organs will lessen the negative impacts of climate change.
