Statement by PUIC Secretary General Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol KILIC Concerning the UN report on Israeli aggression against humanitarian assistance ship

The report which has recently been released by a UN commission of enquiry on the criminal Israeli aggression against the ship "Marmara" which was carrying humanitarian assistance to Gaza Strip last year 2010, constitutes a flagrant bias aimed at absolving the Zionist entity of its criminal act that unmasks the nature of Israeli occupation, its defiance and provocation to all peace-loving and freedom – loving peoples of the world.
We in the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) reject the conclusions of the report for its lack of objectivity as well as its contradiction with the stances of the majority of world states, and international and regional organizations which have roundly condemned the Israeli savage attack on the Marmara – the humanitarian assistance ship – considered as a blatant violation of International Law.
While reiterating its call and request to the international community to oblige Israel to end its illegal and inhuman blockade of Gaza Strip, the PUIC requests the United Nations – to maintain its impartiality and objectivity – to renew its investigations into the Israeli aggression aimed at producing an objective, impartial and non-biased report that observes the principles and provisions of International Law, respects human rights, and avoids provocation of human sentiments.
While reiterating its rejection of the afore-mentioned report, the PUIC expresses satisfaction with the steps taken by the Republic of Turkey to confront Israeli intransigence, arrogance and disdain of human sentiments.
