Secretary General Calls for Lifting Injustice from Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar

These days witness the passage of the sixth anniversary of the genocide of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar which led to the perpetration of horrible atrocities, coercive displacement and flagrant injustice which constitute serious violations of international law and conventions and human rights.

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General, Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, who together with PUIC delegations, visited the Rohingya Camps, in Bangladesh in 2018 and in 2022, calls for lifting injustice from those Muslims, and to double efforts in order to find a solution to their plight.

He praises the affirmations of the OIC of its continuous commitment to seek the realization of justice and accountability for the atrocities which are committed by the Myanmar army, especially at the International Court of Justice.

He welcomes the announcement of the United Nations that it will continue efforts to prepare conditions conducive for the return of the Rohingya refugees in dignity, voluntarily and permanently to their original places in Myanmar.

The Secretary General expresses enormous gratitude and thanks to the Parliament, government and people of Bangladesh which provide in their territory shelter and humanitarian assistance to more than a million refugees from this Muslim Minority.

He calls on the international community to double efforts in order to provide help to the displaced people who live in the Rohingya refugee Camps for the Muslim minority.
