Washington Continues anti Palestine Course

The Palestine National Council (PNC) stated that the decision of the US Department of State on deleting “Palestine” any reference to the “Palestinian territories” or the “Palestinian National Authority” or, and the attempts to remove its legal description as “occupied” from the list of states on its electronic site, is a continuation of its hostile policy towards the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, return, and establishing their independent state, with the city of Al-Quds as its Capital.

In a recent statement, the PNC added that this US decision comes in the wake of stopping using the term “occupied Palestinian territories” as well as legalizing settlement on them, does not alter the fact that Palestine is a state under occupation, recognized by the United Nations, and that the rights of the Palestinian people are protected by hundreds of resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly and the Security Council.

The Statement said further that the State of Palestine is recognized by 150 world states, and that it presides over the Group of 77 and China, which is the biggest bloc constituting two- thirds of the world population. Palestine is also a member of more than 150 international organizations, and has bilateral agreements with most states of the world. These are facts which cannot be changed or denied by any American decision.
