H.E. Eng. Atef Tarawneh, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, informed that twenty seven members of the House of Representatives protested against the decision of the Australian government to use the expression “East Jerusalem” instead of “Occupied East Jerusalem” in its official and international communications.
Mr. Tarawneh stated that those Representatives submitted a memorandum in this regard stressing that this Australian action gives legitimacy to Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem which is in violation of the UN Charter and relevant international and UN Security Council resolutions.
