PUIC Secretary General Participates in IPU Summit in Geneva

The Secretary General of the PUIC, H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, participated with H.E. Deputy Secretary General, in the Sixth Conference of Speakers of Parliaments held once every five years by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in collaboration with the United Nations.

This Conference, which is considered the largest parliamentary forum in the world, took place in Geneva on 29 to 31 July 2025 and was attended by parliamentary leaders from nearly 120 countries.

It involved 136 Speakers and Deputy Speakers, as well as many parliamentarians, experts, diplomats and others.

The Conference adopted a declaration outlining the transformations needed to advance peace, justice and prosperity, and called for parliamentary cooperation with the United Nations.

On the sidelines of the Conference, the delegation of the General Secretariat of the PUIC met with several parliamentary officials who attended the Conference and discussed their parliaments' relations with the PUIC.
