In its Session held on Saturday 15/9/2012, the House of Representatives of the Republic of Yemen issued the following statement about a film insulting to the Greatest Messenger (Pbuh):
We praise God who has said in the Quran: “Messengers before ye have been mocked, and those who mocked them were duly punished for their deed”. Peace and blessing be upon our Master Mohammad Bin Abdallah (pbuh) who has been sent as a mercy to all humanity. The House of Representatives considered the purposeful insult which has been directed against the exalted Prophet, which was contained in an ill-reputed film produced in the USA by people who have thrown away religious, human and moral values. The film is part of a series of insults made by certain Zionist circles aimed at vilifying Mohammad, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), as well as the Holy Quran and Muslim sanctities. These repeated insults, of which the ill-reputed film is a part, led to a storm of strong protests that engulfed both the Arab and Muslim worlds. The House of Representatives of the Republic of Yemen, therefore, emphasizes:
First: Strong condemnation and denunciation of these insults and demands the USA to offer an official apology to Muslims, and to punish all those who have contributed to the production of this film, and to withdraw it from cinema houses and electronic sites.
Second: The House of the Representatives does not accept any foreign presence on the territories of the Republic of Yemen, big or small, under any pretext. It demands the immediate departure of foreign forces, specially the Marines Unit, whose arrival has been recently announced. The House requests the government to assume its responsibility for protecting the embassies and ensure the lives of ambassadors and diplomats - brothers, friends and guests.
