PUIC Secretary General Welcomes UN General Assembly’s Decision to Support Full Membership of the State of Palestine in UN

The UN General Assembly adopted on 10th May, 2024, a historic decision, with a decisive majority that affirms that the State of Palestine is qualified for full membership of the UN. The decision recommends the Security Council to positively reconsider this issue.

H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, the PUIC Secretary General, expressed his welcome of this decision which projects the international support of the just Palestinian cause under the shadow of the global denunciation of the genocide of the steadfast citizens of Gaza who are facing an unjust war waged by the Zionist enemy for seven months leaving behind tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded people.

The Secretary General invited Islamic States to intensify their efforts at the international level so that the state of Palestine may occupy its deserved status among world states, specially that 144 states recognize it, in addition to its full membership of scores of international organizations and agreements, and gaining full membership of the UN is considered a legitimate right that has been affirmed by several UN decisions and resolutions.
