PUIC Secretary General Condemns the Assassination of Hamas Leader

On the day of Eid Al-Fitr (1st of Shawwal 1445 AH corresponding to 10 April 2024), the Zionist enemy committed a heinous crime in Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, northern Gaza Strip, assassinating three of the sons of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and several of his grandchildren, as they were travelling by car to visit family members and congratulate the population on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

This crime is part of the enemy's continuous heinous crimes committed in steadfast Gaza since 7 October 2023 to date.

H.E. Mr Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, strongly denounces and condemns this operation, which targeted unarmed civilians, killed on a religious holiday, and because they are Palestinians and sons of a Palestinian political leader, which violates all laws and principles of human rights.

His Excellency considers that it is time for this criminal war waged by the Zionist enemy to stop. In it, this enemy has committed unprecedented atrocities and has caused tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, in the course of a genocide against the population of Gaza. Water, food and medicine were denied to the population, and internationally prohibited lethal weapons were used. No kind of violation of human dignity remains unchecked by the Israeli occupation authorities.
