In the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union:

Islamic Group's Proposal on Condemning the Zionist Entity's Aggression Against Gaza Obtains the Majority

Islamic Group

Members of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC) have agreed to submit a proposal to the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, currently being held in Luanda (Angola), to add an urgent item to its agenda, which condemns the brutal aggression launched by the Zionist occupation forces against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

The PUIC Members succeeded in obtaining a majority in the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, thus establishing a strong stance in defense of the Palestinian people and in support of their just cause, and condemning the brutal attacks and massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the defenseless civilians as well as the unjust siege, forced displacement and starvation they suffer from.

The PUIC Members had agreed to submit a proposal to add an emergency clause regarding the aggression against Gaza, during the consultative meeting of the Islamic Group, which was held in Luanda on Monday, October 23, 2023, on the sidelines of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union, the largest international parliamentary organization, comprises 180 member parliaments and 70 observer parliamentary unions and organizations.

It was established in 1889 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and the PUIC holds a permanent observer membership in it.
