Secretary General Visits Cote D’Ivoire:  Ivorian National Assembly Agrees to Host 18th PUIC Conference

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass started a visit to the State of Cote D’Ivoire, on Tuesday 28 June 2022, to discuss PUIC relations with the Ivorian Parliament.

On Wednesday 29 June 2022, H.E. the Secretary General met, at the Parliament’s headquarters, with a delegation that included First Deputy Speaker of the Ivorian National Assembly, Mr. Fregbo Guete Basile Mesmin, as well as Mrs. Traoré Maïmouna Toure, Financial officer at the National Assembly, and head of the national group to the PUIC.

The Visit of H.E. the Secretary General coincided with the travel of H.E. the Speaker of the National Assembly outside the country.

H.E. the Secretary General discussed with the delegation of the Ivorian National Assembly the possibility of the Assembly’s hosting of the 18th Session of the PUIC Conference, scheduled to be held by one of the states of the Africa Group in 2023.

The National Assembly of Cote D’Ivoire approved with pleasure, to host the Conference, and that the details would be discussed following the official announcement thereof during the Conference which will be held in Algiers in September 2022.

The two sides stressed the common wish to develop relations between the Ivorian Parliament and the PUIC for the benefit of the Islamic Ummah and the interest of the two institutions.

Gifts were exchanged at the conclusion of the meeting.
