Speaker of the NPA: Palestinian Cause is First Challenge

Speaker of National People’s Assembly of Algeria, Mr, Brahim Boughali affirmed in his inaugural speech at the 47th Meeting of the PUIC Executive Committee, that the meeting has a special importance because it is convened at a critical time at which the international arena is witnessing challenges that make it incumbent on the members to join their ranks in order to be at the level of those challenges.

Amid the events affecting the Palestinian cause, Mr. Boughali stressed that the suppression, vicious aggression and desecrating of sanctities constitute the first of the challenges facing the Islamic Ummah. In this course, Mr. Boughali called for renewing the pledge by extending full support to the Palestinian people until they gain their inalienable rights, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Algerian Speaker explained that the initiative of H.E. the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdul Majid Tibboun, on the gathering of the Palestinian factions in Algeria comes in the framework of the reunion, as well as a contribution towards reaching a national Palestinian consensus.

On the other hand, Mr. Boughali cautioned that extremism, terrorism and organized crime are now employed to defile the values of Islam by using modern internet technologies. He invited scholars and experts on this matter to confront it methodically.

When addressing the aftermath of the Corona Pandemic, Mr. Boughali expressed his satisfaction with the recovery of the health system, and, in return, called for preparing these systems for any possible tremors. He also urged for confronting the aggravating impacts which engulfed state economies resulting from this epidemic, in order to revive them once again.

Concerning climate changes, Mr. Boughali stressed that this is a phenomenon with security, economic and social dimensions. And they are destined to become more damaging in the future. Mr. Boughali, therefore, called for setting up pragmatic policies in defense of the rights of Islamic States at the international levels because they are the least polluted.

On another domain, Mr. Boughali affirmed that efforts must be doubled in order to establish the principles of tolerance and consultation which are advocated by Islam because this is deemed as the only way to stop attempts for intervention, obliterating identity and distorting the sublime values of Islam. He stressed that giving prominence to the language of dialogue is bulwark against seditions and raising crisis.

Lastly, Mr. Boughali stated that Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic has completed the building of its democratic institutions in response to popular demand during the people’s movement. He reiterated the readiness of Algeria to extend the necessary support for the victory of the just causes and solidarity in whatever brings benefit stability and prosperity to Muslim peoples.
