He also urged the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the heads of Mediterranean, Asian, European, American, Arab and Islamic parliamentary societies to elaborate on this proposal to be issued in the form of a global parliamentary Honor Covenant, which would serve peace, harmony and security among societies of all religions and beliefs.
In a statement on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet, Mr. Al-Za’anoon congratulated the Palestinian people, President Mahmoud Abbas and the Arab and Islamic nations on this fragrant occasion, calling on God Almighty to repeat this blessed day to our people with freedom and independence.
This blessed anniversary comes this year amid the continued re-publication of the insulting cartoons of the great Prophet Muhammad, the Messenger of mercy, love and peace to the worlds, Al-Za’anoon said and stressed on the need to respect the feelings and beliefs of all believers in the world, and to promote a culture of tolerance and respect for sanctities and religious symbols.
Mr. Al-Za’anoon strongly the insistence on insulting the Prophet Muhammad, and insulting about two billion Muslims in the world, warning of the consequences of continuing to stir up religious strife and hatred, which feeds hate speech instead of promoting the culture of tolerance, dialogue and coexistence that our tolerant Islamic law calls for.
Al-Za’a noon added that the biggest offender of sanctities and aggressor on religious sites in the world is the Israeli occupation, as it continues to violate the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Palestine, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the ascension (Miraj) of the Prophet Muhammad, and the birthplace of the Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon them).
