PNC Emphasizes Role of Palestinian Women

The Palestine National Council (PNC) emphasized that the Palestinian Woman participates with Man in the struggle, construction, and realization of the objectives of our people of return, self- determination and the establishment of the independent fully-sovereign Palestinian State, with Al Quds, as its capital.

The PNC, in a statement issued by the Speaker, Salim Al Zaanoon, on the occasion on the World Women Day, corresponding to the 8th of March, congratulated Palestinian women, in the homeland and the diaspora, and all women in the world.

The PNC recalled, in its statement the role and contributions of Palestinian Women, in the history and present of the Palestinian national struggle for liberation from occupation and gaining independence, in addition to her intrinsic role in building the society and institutions of the state.

The PNC saluted the women of Palestine in the homeland and the diaspora, especially the wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters of the martyrs, detainees and the wounded, who were patient and steadfast, and ably shouldered the responsibility after the loss of their supporters. PNC highly appreciated the steadfastness of the women strugglers in the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

The PNC added that at a time when the World celebrated the achievements of women in the various fields of life, the Palestinian Woman is still living a life of suffering and injustice of occupation, arrest and denial of her nights. She still feels the loss of husband, son, brother, whether martyr of detainee.

The PNC called on relevant legal and international institutions to provide protection for the Palestinian woman from the violations and crimes of occupation, as well as ensure her enjoyment of all her rights to live in freedom and dignity.

The PNC requested Palestinian official institutions to pay further attention to Palestinian women in terms of care and enablement in the various state institutions and society in appreciation of her position and continuous sacrifices.
