Your Excellency;

As you may recall, since Friday, May 7, 2021, engaged in a criminal act, the Zionist regime has severely beaten and injured a large number of Palestinian citizens, including women and children who were praying and fasting, in Al-Aqsa Mosque for worshiping God Almighty.

This action of the Zionist regime and the continuation of war crimes are in contradiction with the inalienable principles of international law, human rights and international humanitarian law. The right to peaceful assembly, including religious observances, is one of the clearest recognized rights under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and other related international instruments. In addition, worshipping at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the basic rights of Palestinians and is an integral part of their right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, which has been systematically and grossly violated by the Zionist regime.

Unfortunately, today the oppressed and defenseless people of Palestine are being brutally attacked by the occupying Zionist regime, a violator of international systems, and this regime has violated the legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation to the highest possible level. With utter impudence and disregard for international rules and regulations, it keeps insisting on mounting atrocities and oppressions against Palestinians.

The occupier regime carried out its criminal acts, including the ongoing the occupying operations in the historic neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, destruction and confiscation and racial cleansing, widespread and illegal detentions, massacres and assassinations, unremitting attacks on worshipers of Al-Aqsa Mosque, continuing the humanitarian siege of Gaza, outrageous discriminatory policies during the Covid-19 pandemic and the banning of vaccine distribution, the occupation of Palestinian territory for more than seven decades, the persistence of war crimes and complete disregard for the basic principles of human rights in the absence of appropriate response from international organizations and community. This trend has led the regime to continue relentlessly its widespread crimes with the assurance of impunity.

The Islamic Consultative Assembly deeply believes that the current deteriorating situation in Holy Quds and the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque are considered a threat to international peace and security requiring that the parliaments of Islamic countries and the world, governments, international organizations, and international parliamentary assemblies immediately investigate the critical situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and take effective action to stop the crimes of the Zionists immediately.

Through your good offices, Your Excellency and the Parliament of your country are expected to make every effort to end this systematic violation and widespread attack on the Palestinian people and civilians, and to support effectively the existing mechanisms, including the prosecution and condemnation of the perpetrators and accomplices of the Zionists regime's crimes.
