PUIC Secretary General Offers Condolences Following Sinking of Passenger Ferry in Kyrenia

On 30 August 2026, a tragic maritime accident took place off the coast of Kyrenia when a high-speed passenger ferry bound for the port of Tasucu in southern Türkiye, carrying 267 people on board, sank. The incident has been described as the worst maritime disaster in the history of the region.

On this occasion, the Secretary General of the PUIC, H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, praying to Allah the Almighty to shower the deceased in His mercy, expedite the recovery of the wounded, and ensure the safe return of those missing.

His Excellency further expressed his solidarity and sympathy with all those affected by this tragic incident.
