H.E. the PUIC Secretary General Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol KILIC informed H.E. the IPU Secretary General Mr. Martin Chungong about the condemnation and strong protest of H.E. Dr. Ali Larijani, speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran and President of the 9th PUIC Conference, concerning the illegal detentions and practices carried out by the Israeli authorities against the Palestinian officials and members of the legislature.

Prof. KILIC also conveyed to Mr. Chungong the request of Dr. Larijani to follow up the issue of releasing the detainees, including Mr. Abdul Aziz Al- Duwaik, Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, as quickly as feasible.
In his message dispatched in this regard Prof. KILIC also referred to the aggressive practices and legal violations perpetrated by the occupation authorities in Gaza Strip.
