Secretary General Condemns Abduction of Palestinian Deputies

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General Prof. Mahmud Erol KILIC expresses his strong condemnation and denunciation of Israel's policies involving the abduction and detention of nine Palestinian Deputies, including the Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, H.E. Dr. Abdul Aziz Duwaik, which is considered a blatant violation of parliamentary immunity and international laws and conventions.

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General appeals to international and regional organizations, primarily the United Nations as well as the Geneva-based U.N Human  Rights Commission and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and all civil society organizations, concerned with human rights, to exert their utmost efforts in order to stop such criminal actions, and to exercise real pressure on the Israeli government to ensure the immediate release of the Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council and all the other abducted Deputies.
His Excellency urges all the PUIC Member Parliaments to maintain solidarity with the Palestinian people and help them in confronting the serious Israeli policies to which they are subjected in the occupied Palestinian territories.
