The PUIC President seeks views from Saudi Arabia and Turkey on ways to visit Gaza

The PUIC President H.E. Marzuki Alie held several important bilateral meetings with Saudi Arabian and Turkish Parliaments on the sidelines of the G-20 Speakers Consultation in Riyadh, 24-26 February 2012. The PUIC President was seeking views from the PUIC Member States which also listed as G-20 Member States on several important PUIC missions to implement the Resolutions and Final Communique adopted at the 7th PUIC Conference, in Palembang, Indonesia.
One of the main missions that need to be addressed by the PUIC Member States in a prompt manner is the issue of visiting Gaza by the Speakers of the Parliaments of the PUIC Member States. The Speaker of the Saudi Arabian Shura Council, H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh welcomed the initiative and expressed his participation on the PUIC mission under the leadership of Indonesia.
The Speaker of Turkish Parliament H.E. Cemil Ciçek agreed in principle to the implementation of the PUIC mission while he also underlined that the mission requires greater participation from PUIC Member States.
