On the Periphery of the IPU Gathering: Islamic Group Holds Consultative Meeting in Kampala

The Islamic Parliamentary Group will hold its Consultative Meeting on the sidelines of the 126th Assembly of the IPU, from 10:00- 12:00, on Saturday 31 March 2012, at Sunflower Room, Munyonyo Speke Resort, in Kampala, Republic of Uganda.
The Draft Agenda of the Meeting includes, inter alia, a briefing by the PUIC Secretary General Prof. Mahmud Erol KILIC about the meeting, as well as adopting a unified position on issues of common concern to the Islamic Group as included in the agenda of the IPU Assembly.
The Draft Agenda of the IPU gathering contains important themes such as general debate on the political, economic and social situation in the world with the overall theme of Parliaments and people: Bridging the Gap. They also include promoting and practicing good governance as a means of advancing peace and security.
