World Islamic Forum Discusses Issues of Muslim Women

A World Islamic Forum For Women Parliamentarians will discuss issues concerning Muslim women. The People’s Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic will host this forum in Damascus on 5-6 April 2011.
The forum, with the participation of PUIC Member Parliaments and other world bodies, is scheduled to address four main themes, namely:
-    Reasons behind the paucity of participation of Muslim Women in the socio-political life of their respective countries, and how to remedy this situation.
-    Role of Islamic Organizations and civil society institutions in the Member States in protecting the rights ensured by Islam for Women.
-    Rectifying the negative and disfigured image of the Muslim Women.
-    The most outstanding issues that imperil the cohesion of the Muslim Family and means of addressing them.
