The Indonesian Parliament Caucus Condemns Israeli Crime

10 June 2010 -  PUIC Desk

The armed assault conducted by Israel on the “Humanitarian Mission” ship convoy on international waters on early Monday morning has taken the lives of more than 19 civilians and wounded other passengers all of whom are humanitarian volunteers representing more than 40 countries. These volunteers originally intended to send humanitarian supplies to the people of Palestine who are living in Gaza, a place blockaded by Israel since December 2008.

These brutal and sadistic acts have violated the international law of the sea and also against the preamble of Indonesian National Constitution which is against colonialism, “that in reality freedom is the right of all nations, then colonialism in this world has to be wiped out as it is against humanity and justice”. For that reason. We- The Indonesian Parliament Caucus for Palestine has taken our stance as follows:

1.            Condemning the action of Israel which is a violation of Human Rights and against Humanity which must receive punishment from the International communities;

2.            Urging the Indonesian government to ask for investigation into the incident through its political channel at the United Nations, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, ASEAN and other diplomatic channels;

3.            Requesting Chairpersons of Indonesian House of Representatives through IPU (Inter-Parliamentary Union) to urge for the withdrawal of Israel membership in the organization and rejecting the participation of Israel parliament delegation at IPU and various international fora ;

4.            Urging the United Nations to process and deliver resolution regarding sanctions for the violations of human rights conducted by Israel on the Humanitarian Mission;

5.            Calling the United States government to apply military and economic sanctions against Israel to prove the speech of Obama which stated a high respect to uphold Human Rights Values and universal humanity values ;

6.            Requesting the Egyptian government to open the border crossing between Egypt and Gaza (Palestine) and allow humanitarian efforts for the Palestinian people living in Gaza;

7.            Urging the European countries to be united in applying tough sanctions economically and militarily on Israel;

8.            Urging to all Governments, Parliaments and the Peoples of the World to be united in assisting the Palestinian people to overcome the humanitarian crisis and to act vigilantly on the crimes Committed by Israel;

9.            Urging to countries that have diplomatic relations with Israel to withdraw their ambassadors from Israel as has been done by Turkey;

10.          Asking to the government through the Indonesian Ambassadors to the Middle East to take measures to release humanitarian volunteers from Indonesia that are under the custody of Israel.
