Kuwaiti National Council Calls for withdrawing Arab Initiative

2 June 2010 -  PUIC Desk

The National Council of the State of Kuwait called on the Arab States to abandon the Arab Peace Initiative. In a statement, sent to the PUIC, the Council emphasized that this initiative has lost its raison d’être due Israel’s denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Council also called for severing political ties between some Arab and Muslim States and Israel.

The Kuwaiti Statement included several steps for confronting the situation, primarily; to request the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities, conduct an international investigation to determine responsibility for the crime and to seek implementation of the international restitutions which provide for Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied territories.
