In a letter addressed to the new IPU Secretary General, the PUIC Secretary General stated that the election is a strong testament not only to the personal qualities but also to the confidence that IPU members have placed in her ability to lead the organization during a critical time for multilateralism and parliamentary diplomacy.

The PUIC Secretary General also reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the IPU, and emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional ties between the two organizations in service of the international community. He wished the new Secretary General success in her duties and assured her of the PUIC’s continued cooperation for joint action.
