PUIC Commemorates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Today, 25 November 2025, marks the observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, held this year under the theme: “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls.”

H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the PUIC, reaffirms the importance that the PUIC attaches to women, stemming from the esteemed position granted to them in our noble Islamic faith. Our Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) urged kindness towards women, saying: “Treat women well.” He encouraged honoring women, for only a noble man honors them, and only a vile man humiliates them.

In line with the global community, the parliaments of the PUIC commemorate this international day, guided by the hope of putting an end to digital violence, which constitutes a direct violation of women’s rights.

Furthermore, H.E. the Secretary General calls for enhanced international cooperation to halt the alarming rise in incidents of online violence targeting women.
