22nd meeting of the Executive Committee (24-25 January 2010 - Kampala, Uganda)

The 22nd meeting of  the Executive Committee, was held in Kampala, Uganda on 24-25 January 2010. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Kyanju Hossein, the representative of the Ugandan Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee. The Committee was attended by its members who are representatives of the Parliaments of the  following countries : Uganda, Egypt, Algeria, Benin, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Chad.  ( The representative of Azerbaijan was absent).
The meeting was also attended by Secretary-General of the PUIC, who submitted his report which included the activities of the Union since its last meeting held in Algeria on January 29, 2009 till now. The report focused on the issues contained in the Algeria  Declaration, which dealt with the most important political developments in the Islamic world, and support of the  Parliamentary Union of  the OIC Member States to the member states with  internal problems. It  also pointed to the global economic crisis and its impact on the economies of the Islamic countries.
 And after the adoption of the report of  the Secretary-General, the Executive Committee adopted the agenda.
In the Executive Committee , the draft agenda of the twelfth session of the Council which will be held on 28-29 January and the draft agenda of the Sixth Conference to be held on 30 January were updated.
At  the end of the session, the Executive Committee and the Secretary General of the PUIC send a message of condolence to RT honourable the Speaker  and members of the Ugandan Parliament on the occasion of the death of honourable  Samuel Bayanjua Roanafa, the member of Ugandan Parliament.
