PUIC Secretary General Welcomes Spain, Norway and Ireland

The States of Spain, Norway and Ireland have recently announced their recognition of the State of Palestine as of 28 May 2024, raising the number of countries recognising the State of Palestine to 147 out of 193 Member States of the United Nations General Assembly.

H.E. Mr Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the PUIC, has welcomed these decisions from the three countries and considered them an important step towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

His Excellency called on countries that have not yet recognised the State of Palestine to do so, to uphold justice and comply with international resolutions that affirm the right of the Palestinian people to establish their own state and bring an end to their injustice, as they have been under Zionist occupation for 75 years.

His Excellency emphasised that the genocide against the steadfast population of Gaza Strip has awakened the conscience of humanity and alerted it to the gravity of the crimes committed by the Zionist occupier against the Palestinian people.
