Commemorating the Islamic Day For Human Rights and Human Dignity

States of PUIC Member Parliaments, observed on Friday, 5th August 2022, the Islamic Day For Human Rights and Human Dignity, which is being celebrated for the first time at the level of the Islamic World.

The Conference of Foreign Ministers of Islamic States which was held in Islamabad, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in March, 2022, approved dedicating the 5th of August of every year as the “Day For Human Rights and Human Dignity in Islam.” 

The OIC has requested the commemorating of this Day.

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General, Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, called for inspiration of the teachings of our true Islamic religion in observing this Day for the sake of preserving human dignity and mercy on human beings, and this is what has been stipulated by Quranic Verses Chapters and traditions of the prophet. 

His Excellency affirmed on this occasion his solidarity with the Islamic peoples who suffer under foreign occupation, for the sake of respecting the basic rights of these peoples. 

He also called for respect of human rights and coordination among peoples of the world in this field in order to enhance the values of peace and justice to further advance stability and spread compassion in our world.

It is worth recalling that the PUIC statue confirms that one of the objectives of the Union is to “enhance coordination among peoples of the world aimed at respecting human rights and human principles and to defend them, as well as establish peace based on justice.
