After welcoming the Belarusian guest and his accompanying guests, H.E. the Secretary General gave a brief presentation on the PUIC, its history and organisational structure, then H.E emphasised the role of parliamentary diplomacy which is an urgent need under current circumstances.

While briefing shortly on the activities of the both Houses of the Belarus Parliament, and its active role, His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus, said: “We recently participated in the Parliamentary Conference of BRICS, and we discussed on sanctions and the necessity of expanding Parliamentary Cooperation between members.”

H.E the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus expressed his recognition of the active role played by the PUIC in Islamic World. H.E also extended an invitation to the Secretary General to visit the Belarus, and expressed his country’s desire to obtain observer status in the PUIC.

The PUIC Secretary General promised to answer his request upon the receipt of an official request in this regard, and expressed his warm appreciation of the kind statements of His Excellency, as well as his readiness to develop cooperation relations between the two parties.
