The MoU was signed by H.E. Mr Indra Iskandar, Secretary General of the Indonesian Parliament and H.E. Mr Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the PUIC.

During the signing ceremony, the Secretary General of the Indonesian Parliament highlighted the importance of the relations between the Indonesian Parliament and the PUIC, recalling that Indonesia hosted the 7th Conference of the PUIC in 2012, at which the Conference of Muslim Women Parliamentarians was formed and held its first meeting.

H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the PUIC commended the important role played by Indonesia in the PUIC and thanked it for hosting the upcoming PUIC Conference scheduled to take place in Jakarta on 12-15 May 2025.

H.E also emphasised the importance of the upcoming conference, which takes place at a time when the Islamic world is going through near unprecedented challenges.
