Arab Parliament Stresses Importance of Arab-Iran Dialogue

The First Ordinary Session of the Arab Parliament for 2012 approved a number of recommendations submitted by committees. These recommendations included; inter alia, stressing importance of Arab-Iranian dialogue and the formation of a small committee to follow up contacts and procedures for arranging and organizing the dialogue.
The recommendations also included updating the agreement on organizing refugee conditions in Arab States. The Arab Parliament decided to submit this recommendation to the Arab League Council at summit level. It also approved organizing a symposium on the role of Arab Parliaments in energizing and protecting legislations of children’s rights.
The Arab Parliament held its meetings in Cairo on 21-23 March 2012. The most outstanding subjects for discussion included developments in the Middle East, particularly situation in Syria, Somalia and Palestine, as well as the Arab-Iranian dialogue and the Arab-Turkish dialogue, and relations with regional groups.
