PNC: Allowing Jews to Pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque is a Direct Aggression against the Arab and Islamic Nations

Palestine National Council (PNC) considered the decision of the Israeli occupation court, allowing Jews to pray in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, a direct and explicit aggression against the sole right of Muslims in the first of the two Qiblahs and the third holy mosque.

In a press statement today, Thursday, PNC said that this aggression would not have occurred without the failure of the international, Arab and official Islamic institutions to perform their duties and implement their obligations towards occupied Palestine and its sanctities, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

PNC stressed that this decision is a dangerous precedent and a clear violation of the historical and legal situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque by the occupying power, aimed at beginning the implementation of the spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is a further insult to the principles of international law, and the relevant Geneva Conventions, and the resolutions of the UN Security Council and UNESCO, all of which affirmed that The city of Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian land, and that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a pure Islamic heritage that non-Muslims have no right to whatsoever.

Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic holy sites, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, is an occupied Palestinian land in accordance with international law and international legitimacy resolutions, the latest of which is Resolution 2334 of 2016, PNC stressed that the Israeli courts are the partner of the occupation, and have no jurisdiction or authority over the occupied Palestinian land or its holy sites. It will not grant a right and will not create an obligation, and that the Palestinian people will not allow this decision to be implemented. The Israeli occupation and settler gangs have repeatedly tested the steadfastness of Palestinian people and their willingness to sacrifice, especially when it comes to Al-Aqsa Mosque.

PNC added that the responsibility to confront this new crime does not fall on the Palestinians alone, but rather a responsibility of the Arab and Islamic nations in the first place, which represented by the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its committees, and its financial funds that were established to protect and defend Jerusalem and its holy sites in the face of attempts to Judaize it, and in compliance with the decisions of its successive summits.

PNC called on the Arab and Islamic parliaments, the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Arab Parliament and the Union of Islamic Parliaments to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque by pushing their governments to implement their financial and political commitments related to protecting Al-Quds, the first of the two Qiblas, and to announce their positions towards this aggression which is allowing the Jews to perform their prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and activating its parliamentary diplomacy on regional and international levels to mobilize a global parliamentary position rejecting the violations of the occupation in Palestine and its aggression against the land, people and sanctities.

The occupation decision taken by an Israeli court opens the door to a religious conflict with more than two billion muslims in the world, PNC said, it is the responsibility of the international community and its institutions, especially the UN Security Council, to stop this madness that is taking the region and the world to the brink of a religious war that will have serious implications and repercussions on the security, stability of the region and the world, as there is no time left but to impose sanctions on the occupation and prosecute its leaders for their crimes, and their failure to abide by international resolutions and the relevant Geneva Conventions.

PNC praised the Hashemite guardianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, praising the advanced, steadfast and courageous position of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan represented by King Abdullah II, the government, the brotherly Jordanian people and their parliament, in confronting these violations and aggression against the holy sites, calling for firm positions from the Arab and Muslim brothers, and ending the process of normalization that encouraged the occupation and the settler government to persist in their violations of the rights of the Arab and Islamic nations in Palestine, in its sanctities, and in the first qiblah of muslims.
