The PUIC Secretary General Prof. Mahmud Erol KILIC expressed his congratulations to the whole Iranian people   on the happy occasion of Nowruz, the first day of spring, which considers as the first day of the Persian New Year on 21st of March.

His Excellency also expressed his congratulations to the esteemed People of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, as well as  Albania, Uzbekistan, Kosovo, Iraq and Georgia who celebrate this spring festival.  PUIC secretary General wished the New Year to be a happy year for all the people around the world.
It is noteworthy that the festivities marking Nowruz are also spreading across the world.
In 2010, the UN General Assembly designated March 21 as the International Day of Nowruz. The UN also celebrates the International Day of Happiness, which falls on March 20 every year.
In 2009, Nowruz was officially added to UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
