The Experts Committee on Formulating a Draft Islamic Parliamentary Declaration held its Third Meeting in Khartoum, Republic of the Sudan, on 5-6 March 2013 in the presence of all its members except the representative of the Syrian People’s Assembly.
H.E. Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim Al- Tahir, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Sudan and President of the 8th PUIC Conference opened the meeting with a speech in which he stressed the importance of establishing an Islamic Parliament, and dealt with some proposed mechanisms to establish the parliament.
Following consideration of proposals presented by some member parliaments, the Committee unanimously approved a number of significant recommendations in this respect, which will be submitted to the next meeting of the PUIC Executive Committee.
