The Shura Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain issued a statement expressing its strong condemnation of the film which denigrates the Greatest Messenger (Pbuh), and distorts Islam and its tolerant reality, noting that the film producers are extremists who have no connection with human co-existence and religious tolerance.
The Statement:
“The Shura Council expresses its condemnation of the content of the film which is insulting to the person of the Messenger of mercy and humanity, and to the Mothers of the Faithful. Such insult is contrary to the veneration and sanctity of religions and prophets. The Council stresses that belief, glorification and respect of all Prophets and Messengers are provided for in the Holy Quran, and that they constitute the basis of the belief of every Muslim. The Council also stresses that the call today for all people must be clear that they ought to respect the sanctities of nations, promote coexistence of civilizations and understand the particularities of religions.
The Shura Council is of the view that such abhorrent and unacceptable practices strongly act to spread hatred, division and enmity between human beings at a time when the world is in dire need for enhancement of cooperation among peoples and communities, and for realization of justice and respect for individuals.
The Council reiterates its view that this film and its producers are devoid of all values, have broken all taboos in their attempt to ignite the fires of religious and sectarian racism. The Council emphasizes that this despicable action transgresses all boundaries of moral, doctrinal and human principles; and that it cannot be justified by claims of freedom.
While denouncing the denigration of the person of the Greatest Messenger (Pbuh), and distortion of the tolerant Islam, the Shura Council condemns, at the same time, the strong reactions that have taken place in a number of Arab and Muslim States vis-à-vis US diplomatic missions, and calls on Muslims to decry this abhorrent action through peaceful and civilized means which reflect the tolerant image of Islam and keep away mongers of sedition and sowers of animosity and hatred. ”
