H.E. PUIC Secretary General Professor Mahmud Erol KILIC attended the Emergency Ministerial Meeting of the OIC Executive Committee which was held in Istanbul, Turkey, on 17th August 2011 to discuss the humanitarian situation caused by the severe famine in Somalia.
Professor KILIC received the invitation to attend the afore-mentioned meeting from H.E. Ahmet Davutoglu, Foreign Minister of Turkey. In the invitation message it was stated: “your Excellency’s presence at the meeting will highlight the importance that we all attach to our Somali brothers’ plight and our Sensitivity to their urgent need of humanitarian assistance.”
The said meeting was held under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Turkey, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
