Secretary General of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Countries, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Erol Kiliç called on Chairman Senate, Mr. Farooq H. Naek at Parliament House Islamabad, March 16 2010 and discussed with him the ways and means to further increase cooperation between the Parliament of Pakistan and PUIC.
While talking to the Secretary General of PUIC, accompanied by Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, the Chairman Senate underlined the need for sharing experiences of the Parliaments of 51 Islamic Countries who are members of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Countries for cementing the relations between the Islamic countries for harmonious legislation on various socio-economic and political issues faced by the Muslim world in modern times.
He further added that the Parliaments representing the will and the aspirations of Muslim masses can promote closer collaboration amongst the Muslim countries of Asia, Africa and Middle East in the fields of education, energy, agriculture, trade, commerce and exploration of natural resources for the socio-economic uplift of their people.
Prof. Dr. Mahmut Erol Kiliç lauded the role of Pakistan in Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Countries as a leading member and hoped that the cooperation of Pakistan with the organization will be further strengthened in the days to come
