The 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which took place from 15 to 19 April 2026 in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, adopted the emergency item submitted by the State of Qatar, entitled: "The urgent need for coordinated parliamentary efforts to uphold ceasefire agreements and support the achievement of peace in the Middle East and other regions".
It should be noted that this is the first time the Islamic Group, together with their partners, has succeeded in passing an urgent item in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
