Tehran- Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States ( PUIC ) Prof. Mahmud Erol KILIC conferred  on Tuesday 19 January 2010 with H.E. Dr. Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, on ways to expand Parliamentary cooperation among Muslim countries.
Mr. Larijani said that the PUIC should play an active role in dealing with the problems of the Muslim World. Highlighting the significant role of the OIC  Mr. Larijani stated that the big powers seek to divert the public opinion of the Muslim nations and their regional institutions to minor issues to attain their sinister goals. He added that to deal with the phenomenon, Muslims should make use of their potentials and capabilities to resolve their problems.
On his part Prof. KILIC said that the PUIC is encouraging expansion of Parliamentary relations and cooperation among Islamic nations. He also praised the role of Iran in the Middle East.
