Speaker of Iranian Parliament: The Islamic Nation Must Fulfill its Responsibility towards Palestine

Given that over a fortnight has passed since the war crimes by the Zionist regime against the defenseless and oppressed people of Palestine in Gaza Strip, the Chairman and Honorable members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly hosted the ambassadors of Islamic countries, and secretaries and heads of International organizations based in the Islamic Republic of Iran on Monday, 23 October 2023 and a meeting was held with the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ghalibaf, the Honorable Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, to help the oppressed people of Palestine, examine practical and legal ways to prevent the forced displacement of the people of Gaza from their homeland, send humanitarian aid, especially food and medicine, as well as support women, children and defenseless people of Palestine.

Following the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, President of the Seventeenth Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States, and the President of People's National Assembly of Algeria, the Speakers of the Parliaments of the PUIC held an emergency meeting on Monday, 16 October 2023, via visual communication technology, to discuss the dangerous situation in Palestine and support the Palestinian cause.

His Excellency Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States, expressed his strong condemnation of the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces through the bombing of Al Mamadani Hospital in Gaza Strip on the evening of Tuesday, 17th of October 2023. This brutal aggression left hundreds of martyrs and wounded, including women and children.

PUIC President Condemns the Targeting of Al-Ahly Hospital in Gaza Strip

His Excellency, Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, President of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States and President of People's National Assembly of Algeria, strongly condemns the targeting of Al-Ahli Al-Mamadani Hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip by the tyrannical Zionist occupation forces, leaving more than 500 martyrs, including children, women and the elderly. This shameful act is a fully-fledged war crime and a heinous crime against humanity, punishable by all international norms, laws and regulations. We therefore call upon the international community to assume its responsibility regarding the genocide being perpetrated against the Palestinian people in cold blood and with the complicity of the international community. In addition, we stress the urgency of taking swift and immediate action to deliver aid to the people of Gaza and establish corridors for humanitarian assistance.
