H.E. Professor Mahmud Erol KILIC, PUIC Secretary General hailed the distinguished relations existing between the Union and the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU). He stated that these relations are destined for further strength and development in view of the fact that 21 APU members are also effective and active PUIC members.
His Excellency Professor KILIC delivered a speech at the 17th APU Conference, held in Doha, State of Qatar, on 7-8 February 2011.
Professor KILIC participated in the proceedings of this conference accompanied by H.E. Ambassador Ali Asghar Mohammadi Sijani, PUIC Assistant Secretary General.
In his speech, Mr. KILIC stated that our Union pays great attention to the issue of promoting democracy and protecting human rights and their role in achieving sustainable development.
He referred in this regard to the outcome of the 13th PUIC Council which was recently convened in Abu Dhabi, state of the United Arab Emirates.
