The Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, participated in the proceedings of the 52nd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC Member States, held Baghdad, capital of Iraq, on 17 and 18 October 2026, under the theme “Dialogue and Solidarity: Two Essential Pillars for Promoting Peace and Sustainable Development.”

The Secretary General’s participation reflects the PUIC’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination with the OIC and fostering integration between parliamentary and diplomatic efforts, in a manner that contributes to supporting the causes of the Islamic world, enhancing solidarity among Member States, and reinforcing the role of parliaments in promoting dialogue, understanding, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.

The Session addressed a range of priority political, regional, and international issues. In this context, the Secretary General underscored the importance of strengthening coordination and consultation between the PUIC and the OIC and intensifying joint efforts to address current challenges, thereby reinforcing Islamic unity and serving the aspirations of the peoples of the Member States.
