Arab Interparliamentary Union Condemns Extremist Israeli Calls to Blow Up Al-Aqsa Mosque

The presidency of the Arab Interparliamentary Union (AIPU) issued on September 17 a statement expressing its strong condemnation and denunciation of extremist Israeli calls to blow up the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock in preparation for the construction of the alleged Temple. The AIPU expressed its categorical rejection of these criminal and racist calls, stressing that they represent a dangerous escalation that threatens peace and stability in the region.

The Arab Interparliamentary Union also condemned the recurrent provocative calls to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which aim to change the historical and legal status of the holy site, in flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.

The statement also highlighted the Israeli occupation's escalation of its racist and barbaric practices in the West Bank and throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territories, calling on the international community to take a firm and immediate stance to put an end to the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people.

The Arab Interparliamentary Union renewed its full solidarity with the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, stressing that the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is the only body authorized to manage the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy Site, thus ensuring the preservation of its religious and historical identity.
