His Excellency the PUIC Secretary General Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass welcomed the agreement reached between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia providing for resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries, reopening of their embassies and consular representations within a period of 2 months, reactivating the security cooperation agreement which was signed in 2001, as well as reactivating the General Agreement on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, Technology, science and culture, which was signed in 1998.

H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, stressed the importance of this long – awaited agreement which, undoubtedly, serves the higher interests of the Islamic Ummah, and instills a new life of understanding, solidarity and cooperation, which will enhance security, stability and peace in this lively region of the world.

H.E. expressed the utmost thanks to the leaders in both Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and to all the countries which have contributed towards reaching this agreement, especially China, Iraq and Oman.
