The PUIC Secretary General, H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, sent a message to the President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso, H.E. Mr. Alassane Bala Sakandé on the occasion of the attack perpetrated by terrorist assailants against a convoy of traders escorted by a government-backed civilian self-defense force known as the Volunteers for the Defence of the Motherland (VDP), set up to support the army on Thursday December 26, 2021 which caused the death of 41 civilians and army auxiliaries in an ambush in the north of the country.
While condemning the resurgence of this kind of violent attacks, the PUIC Secretary General offered his condolences to the Parliament, the government and the people of Burkina Faso and reiterated his support and solidarity with Burkina Faso in its fight against terrorists and prayed to Almighty Allah to cover the dead with his mercy and forgiveness; and to grant their families patience and consolation, as well as a speedy recovery to the wounded.
He also praised the determination of the forces of the Burkinabe’s army in its fight against the assailants, especially with regard to the incident which took place on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in the area of the city of Gomboro during which the army repelled and killed several assailants.
