Statement issued by the Palestine National Council: Condemnation and Call for Immediate Action against Israeli Atrocities in Rafah

The Palestine National Council (PNC) vehemently condemns the brutal massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation and ruthless bombing of refugee camps adjacent to United Nations facilities in Rafah. Savagely targeting innocent civilians and burning women and children while they lay asleep in areas purportedly deemed safe, are utterly abhorrent and unforgivable.

Following the tragic death of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, as well as those who were with them, in a helicopter crash on Saturday 19 May 2024, H.E. Mr Adama BICTOGO, President of the PUIC and Speaker of the National Assembly of Cote d’Ivoire sent a condolence letter to H.E. Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Parliament.

PUIC Secretary General Welcomes UN General Assembly’s Decision to Support Full Membership of the State of Palestine in UN

The UN General Assembly adopted on 10th May, 2024, a historic decision, with a decisive majority that affirms that the State of Palestine is qualified for full membership of the UN. The decision recommends the Security Council to positively reconsider this issue.

PUIC Secretary General: US Veto against Full Palestinian Membership in the UN Challenges International Will

On Thursday, 18 April 2024, the UN Security Council voted on a resolution granting the Palestinian state full membership in the United Nations. The resolution was voted in favour by 12 countries, abstained by two, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and vetoed by the USA.
