We, the participants in the 5th Extraordinary Meeting of the PUIC Standing Palestine Committee, held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran on 10 January 2024, to discuss the Israeli occupation “Criminal aggression against the Palestinian people which has caused massacres that resulted in the fall of thousands of martyrs; Mostly women and children and the widespread destruction of Gaza and all its vital infrastructure.

The 5th Extraordinary Meeting of the PUIC Standing Palestine Committee, convened in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, on Wednesday, 10 January, 2024, in response to a kind invitation from H.E. Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran on the criminal aggression launched by the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people which is continuing for three months now.

This anniversary takes place today, at a time when the Palestinian people are renewing their commitment to their inalienable rights, despite the horrible crimes and aggressions to which they are facing.

PUIC President Condemns the Terrorist Attack in Kerman, Southern Iran

H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly and President of the PUIC, strongly condemns and denounces the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted the Kerman Province, southern Iran, leaving many defenseless civilian victims. His Excellency expressed his sincere condolences to families of the victims and wished for a speedy recovery to those injured and affirming his absolute solidarity with the brotherly Iranian people.

Secretary General Strongly Condemns Terrorist Explosions in Kerman, Iran

Kerman Province, in South Eastern Iran, witnessed on Wednesday 3 /01/2024, two terrorist explosions which resulted in the death of more than 100 persons and the injury of much more others. The two blasts took place near a cemetery crowded with visitors at that time.

The first virtual meeting of the Standing Specialized Committee on Human Rights, Women and Family of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, was held on December 21, 2023, in presence of the distinguished members of the Committee and the representative of the State of Palestine in the PUIC. The meeting discussed the current situation in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, represented in the barbaric war that it is witnessing and the genocide perpetrated by the Zionist-Israeli entity against the Palestinian people.

Statement issued by the Presidency of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and amid the disregard and violation of human rights by some States, in particular within the Occupied Palestinian Territories and the Gaza Strip, by the Israeli occupying forces, the occupying Power, which have practiced and is still practicing the most barbaric and brutal acts against civilians children, women and the elderly, not to mention targeting civilian infrastructure without the slightest moral or human sense, the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union reiterating its hope and call for greater coordination and cooperation among the various members of the international community, all over the world, with a view to achieve a world of rule of law, mutual respect, moral, religious and human values, regardless of identity, religion and political orientation, commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 2023.
