The AIPU expressed its strong condemnation of the attempted transfer of the administration of the Ibrahimi Mosque from the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and the Hebron municipality to the occupation authority, a step that represents a serious infringement on the existing historical and legal status quo.

The AIPU emphasised that this plan poses a direct threat to security and stability in the region and is a blatant provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world.

The statement also emphasised the categorical rejection of such policies that aim to erase the Palestinian identity, and called on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities and work actively to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites from attempts to Judaise them.
