PUIC Secretary General Welcomes the UNGA Resolution on Israel

On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, the United Nations General Assembly approved the first resolution submitted by Palestine, which demanded Israel's withdrawal from the occupied territories within 12 months, by a majority of 124 votes.

H.E. Mr Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, welcomes this historic resolution, which is a new victory for the just Palestinian cause and a proof that persistence in reclaiming one's rights, guarantees their restoration in the end.

His Excellency calls on those countries that approved this resolution, which represent two-thirds of the members of the United Nations, to cooperate in order to establish an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital, and to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, who have been oppressed by the forces of injustice and tyranny in the world to deprive them of their right to live freely, safely, and securely on their land.

This resolution comes at a time when the Zionist entity continues the genocidal war it has been waging on the steadfast Gaza for nearly a year.
